RESEARCHING CHANGES IN THE GAME

After the successful 2002 Rounds Report, the National Golf Foundation again surveyed the nation’s golf facilities in January 2003 to determine the number of rounds played the previous year. The results for 2002 indicated a 3 percent decrease in rounds from 2001.

Outside factors, including the economy, weather and competition, were blamed as the primary causes of the decrease. Total revenue, however, grew by 0.9 percent—the sum of increases in rounds revenue and food-and-beverage revenue. Read the NGF’s full report by downloading the PDF below.
